Essentially, they converted a persona of affection into a figure of animosity who blesses specifically the brutality that he criticized in the Gospel; this change developed more slowly, over decades instead of months, yet it remains disconcerting in the same ways, a confusing personal impact for numerous individuals.
A Harmful Christianity Takes Hold
