The January recruitment period proves to be a period of significant rumour and possible major deals. A number of notable players are being linked with moves out of their present clubs. This article explores a selection of the major figures that are poised to be changing clubs in January.

Antoine Semenyo

Despite the Black Stars' inability to qualify for the AFCON, which has kept the player available, reports suggest an important move is imminent. The 25-year-old possesses a deal with a sizeable release clause applicable for a two-week period in early January. Latest reports point to Manchester City have emerged as his signature. Other suitors like Tottenham and Chelsea reportedly have moved on to other options, potentially opening the door for clubs such as Liverpool or Manchester United to make a last-minute bid.

M. Guéhi

The England centre-back has excel for Crystal Palace this season a previous move to Anfield collapsing. With his contract due to expire in the close season, this represents the club's last opportunity to obtain a fee for their skipper. Numerous elite sides, such as Manchester City and multiple continental powerhouses like Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, are believed to hold an interest. Additionally, there are suggestions from Spain that he would be willing to accept a pay cut for a move to the Spanish giants.

M. ter Stegen

The experienced German goalkeeper is now as third-choice at Barcelona following the coach Flick. After fallen out of favour and had an operation, a January exit seems highly likely. Villa were once mentioned as a possible destination, but that move currently seems off. Instead, clubs from Saudi Arabia and Turkey are reportedly showing interest in the 33-year-old.

I. Toney

This proven England centre-forward has continued finding the net frequently in Saudi Arabia. A return to the Premier League could enhance his dwindling chances of making the England squad. The much-admired Netherlands midfielder has earned comparisons to Kevin De Bruyne for his style of play. Following starring at the Under-19 European Championship, he has broken into the AZ Alkmaar side. This teenager is widely tipped to make a major transfer in January. Newcastle United reportedly are leading the chase, but are facing strong rivalry from Real Madrid for a deal valued at around twenty-two million pounds.
